Andrew Merrell is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in male psychology and male-centered therapy in West Hollywood and Los Angeles. Andrew's specialization in men's psychotherapy centers on male psychology, male identity, power, control, achievement, primal wounds, trauma, insecurity, anxiety, sex and sexuality, relationships, the shadow, the inner child, anger and addiction.

While Andrew works exclusively with men, his clients are diverse in age, life stage, clinical emphasis and aspects of identity. A clinical areas of concentration include males facing internal and/or external challenges and changes - often executives, actors, athletes, musicians or public figures encountering issues related to managing and integrating public/private personas, relationships, wealth, notoriety, betrayal, stress, unhealthy habits, exhaustion and the pressures of prestige.

Outside of the private practice setting his work has included inpatient residential and rehabilitation settings, training elite collegiate sports teams, running male identity groups inside the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail, leading customized leadership optimization (corporate) and unit cohesion workshops (federal law enforcement and the military), and serving as a coach/mentor in some specific capacities for clients across the country and overseas.  

Aim Psychotherapy was established in 2015. Prior to receiving his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Andrew graduated with his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, with a concentration in Sociology & Communications.

While receiving clinical training at two leading Los Angeles mental health facilities Andrew worked with a diverse demographic of male clients, co-facilitated psychotherapy groups, and worked with individuals, couples and families. During that time, Andrew also worked in a residential inpatient treatment facility for young adults in Malibu, California.

In addition to Aim Psychotherapy, Andrew co-founded the Eos Program in 2018 at the Camden Center, a renowned dual diagnosis mental health facility in Los Angeles where he served as the Eos Program Chief. Andrew also co-founded the Prism Institute an organization devoted to identity, and Ignis an innovative men's retreat workshop.

Andrew was mentored in private practice by Andrew Susskind, LCSW, prior to successful state licensure as an independent private practice clinician. Andrew has received two awards for his service in the field of psychotherapy across his decade of work in the discipline.
